*nod* I definitely agree with that.. without the drive for perfection, humanity as a whole would never have gotten as far as it has. I know that, rationally, but there's a difference between a drive to excel or better something and flat-out complaining about everything. Constructive criticism is good; general negativity is bad. That's really all I was trying to say, I think. I never really have a problem with people who actually talk about a problem, break it down into what they think is wrong and what they'd do about it. It's the people (like myself, in this very post *sigh*) who just say "this sucks" that frustrate me.

It's really the difference between saying "this is a great game, but these x points need work," and saying "dude this game suxxorz cause they nerfed my class!" There are some very insightful people out there who do appreciate what they have and work to better the flaws, as they see them; they're just vastly outnumbered by the pontificators and flamers who only want to whine.

Blah blah blah; I'm no better myself, I know. ;)

Hehe I've actually been thinking about this and seeing examples of it all over lately... but I think I've been seeing it differently. There was even an issue of Sandman I read last night that talked about it, in a sense.

Except for, I think, the certain kind of person that just wants to live a simple life out on a farm somewhere in the midwest, most people are never really happy with what they have, no matter what they have. I actually think this can be a very good thing. To long for something more than you have, either in your possessions or yourself, gives a person something to work towards and a way of improving his/her life. It seems to me that a person that had everything they way they wanted it would be pretty miserable and not have anything to look forward too. But naturally there's plenty of people that want things others want, or want things to be one way when someone else wants them another way... At that point, it starts to suck and I begin to agree with you.

short version of what I'm trying to say: On a personal level, the fact that no one's ever happy with their lot can be a good thing. But in general, yeah it tends to suck.
