Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
That’s what I want to wake up to tomorrow morning. Weather is currently calling for 4-8 inches of snow by morning; I suspect we’ll only get the low end of that, but I really would love to get the full 8 inches. Granted, I mostly just want a day off from work, but having snow really makes it feel like Christmas time.

We’re getting our first “real” snowfall tonight too (same storm, eh?). We’re only looking at 2-4 inches though. I am profoundly disappointed.
Made everything look pretty (our snow started at about 2 pm), and made the hot chocolate taste that much better.

Yeah, same storm, I think. Too bad it lost all its steam and only gave us about 2 inches. Just enough to be annoying, but not enough to actually get us a day off. Only barely enough to be pretty (it didn’t quite cover all the grass). Oh well, it does make it feel like it’s really winter now, at least.

The winteriest we’ll get here in Austin is probably the 39 degrees it managed to get down to last night when I went out to dinner. I was actually really surprised just to get that. =\

39 degrees sounds really nice right now.

Are you guys gonna get hit by this coastal storm coming our way? You might be too far west to really see it though… More snow for us! In plowable amounts… whatever that turns out to be.

The weather people are currently calling for 3-5 inches of snow/sleet tonight. Since I have to drive to D.C. tomorrow night to pick up Jon, I’m hoping that we don’t actually get that. Unless we just get the day off tomorrow, but then it warms up enough that the highways aren’t bad to drive. ‘Course.. since his flight doesn’t get in until after 9pm, I guess anything would be frozen again by then anyway. Not looking forward to that..

We’re expecting 5-7 inches in the latest forecast, with the heaviest to the west and north of the DC area. Might be messy for Jon’s flight, and your drive over.
If you want, you guys could crash at my place friday night, and drive home saturday morning, when the roads might be better (or at the very least, not driving home in the middle of the night).

Tech’s e-mail server has been not-so-good as of late, so if you guys want to crash, e-mail me at my other account, anacher at gmail dotcom.

We may take you up on that, we’ll see. It’s really sad how much I’ve been worrying about this all day. -.-

Fear not about the snow and wintery mix, we don’t know how to drive around here anyway. Since all the drivers will be stuck (and many aren’t planning on going to work tomorrow) traffic should be light. I have no idea what the roads will look like though.
Oh, and I saw Jon mention somewhere about driving back from Dulles to 495 to 66. There are many better ways to get to 66, that are much shorter. Take 28 S (right outisde of dulles), or the Fairfax county parkway south. Both take you to 66, and nowhere near 495 which should take some time off the trip.

Yeah, we usually go 28. The 495 incident was an accident. Looks like the roads should be okay, if they’re anything like here. Most of the snow’s melted already. -.-

A lot of the snow melted around here too, made for a very messy morning, but things seemed to get better as the day went on.
As for tonight, I have no idea what things will look like, but I know it’s going to get cold, and with the wet pavement and slush it might get to be very icy. Be careful.
