Another year
It’s funny, I was so caught in talking about Oblivion (which I talk about so much that I’m probably driving my husband and cruinh nuts) that I forgot to mention that my birthday was Tuesday. Really, though, that’s about how much of an impact it had on me; it was just another day, easily overshadowed by other things. No, I’m not telling how old I am. Don’t ask.
It was a pretty nice day overall. A couple of folks at work gave me cards and decorated my office. I came away with some majorly phat
loot. Of course, now I have so many great things to do that I can’t decide which one I want to do first. I mean, I can keep playing Oblivion, but I might be playing that for quite a while.. and I’ve been looking forward to a good Suikoden game since 3 came out. Ah well, I suppose having too many choices isn’t really something I should complain about.
Otherwise, I didn’t do much. Didn’t even go out to dinner, thanks to my broken foot. Just another day, in the words of the soulful Jon Secada.
On another note, Metaplanar Babel has been around for over a year now. I know I’ve slowed down a bunch lately, but it’s still kicking. I still only have what, 2 or 3 readers, but I love ya all.

I think I know what you mean… I haven’t thought to check on any of the blogs I normally re– oooh… I can’t wait to get home and dig into the Mage’s Guild quests! And– oh I mean, uh… Happy Birthday!

It kind of irks me that no one in Oblivion recognizes me once I’ve become the Archmage. They recognize the Arena Champion, and some of the guards even recognize me as a Blade/Hero of Kvatch, but no, not even the *mages* recognize me as their Archmage. Hmph. And after I saved that ungrateful pack of incompetents from the Necromancers, no less! Still..perhaps it’s best if they don’t look at my actions too closely. I do answer to a higher calling than even the Mages Guild.. *cue creepy suspense music*
Oh, and thanks.

Oblivion managed to make me take time away from Eve, which is kinda tough to do. Luckily I can keep a skill training so I don’t lose out on training time in Eve.
And for getting “respect”, join the fighter’s guide. They all call me “Master” now, and I get a cut of all the missions that they do. Go-go more money. There are a couple more houses I can buy!
And Happy belated b-day btw.

I tried out a trial of Eve recently and couldn’t really get into it. I think what turned me off to it was getting a mission where all I really did was start up my autopilot and then leave go make dinner. I actually came back a half hour later and my ship was still travelling
I want to like it though… I miss games like that.

Matt, Courier missions suck. Find combat missions after the tutorial stuff.
It’s all about the corporation you’re in. I’ve got a good group of people to play with. We guard each other for convoys, form gangs of warships to kill pirate fleets, mine rocks to make for ships. Lot’s of fun. Our alliance just started a two weeks ago, and we’ve been in non-stop combat with the hostile alliance since then. And there are ways to get around extremely long travel times.

Jen! It’s been over a month! While I know Oblivion is quite the time sucker, these things don’t take that long to write.
Which reminds me, I need to update mine.

[…] As Fishhead so kindly pointed out, it’s been a while since I wrote anything. It’s not because of Oblivion, though. I’ve been really blah about everything for a while. I have several new games that I want to play, just not enough to actually go play them. Sad, I know. I’ve been sort of mucking around with a MUD project, but my track record with actually finishing anything is so low that there’s really no telling where that’ll go. […]
