Comments (1)Oh! It’s Smile Time!

Okay, so Angel is a great show. I’ve liked it a lot; it’s very much in the world of gray decisions, without the typical black-and-white, good-and-evil syndrome that plagues so many television shows. Joss is good at that. He populates his shows with very believable real people. But the Smile Time episode has got to be, hands down, the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen on television. There’s nothing in Buffy or Firefly or even early Angel that touches it. This video will show you why. Go watch it and laugh. It’s Smile Time! ;)

Okay, I’m afraid. South Park is doing an episode about World of Warcraft. I almost wish I had cable so we could watch this episode.

I just know Cartman would be one of those obnoxious players that I always wanted to shoot when I was playing.. >.<

Looks like there’s going to be another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. This one appears to be styled after the more recent cartoon series, with the solid white eyes, and it appears to be entirely CG. The trailer I linked to looks pretty kick-ass though. [via]

So, we’re agreed that Bryan Singer is a cinematic genius, right? At least, he does amazing work with comic book material. Jon and I went to see Superman Returns last night, and it was fabulous. It’s possible that my opinion doesn’t really say much, since I’ve never seen any of the other movies (I know, I’m not American, blah blah), but I really enjoyed SR anyway. The movie was pretty accessible to people who hadn’t seen the others, though I feel certain that I missed out on a lot of nuances in my ignorance. Brandon Routh was great (and gorgeous!), and Kevin Spacey was rather creepy in Lex Luther’s madness. I was able to really get into the movie and feel the tension, something I can’t usually say. I’m not usually the type to be on the edge of my seat, but for Superman, I guess I was. Fantastic movie. ;)

Or..when geeks get bored:

I can’t even begin to imagine how long it must have taken to set this thing up. Pretty nifty though.

Comments (0)Lazy what?

This video kind of freaks me out, mostly because it’s set in my hometown of Snellville, Georgia. It was mentioned in a CNN article about the lack of originality in comedy these days (it’s a parody of a parody). Freaky.

Justin at the Killing Train writes a little review of Serenity that brings up a few interesting political ideals from the movie. (referenced post is pretty old, but interesting nonetheless)

Comments (0)Return - A Warcraft Motion Picture

Return - A Warcraft Motion Picture has got to be one of the best crafted video game-inspired movies I’ve yet to come across. A lovely story, nice voice acting, stirring music - this movie is more than worthy of its win at the “Blizzcon Movie Contest 2005″. If anyone ever makes a movie from WoW (hey, they made Doom, why not?), I hope it is imbued with the same spirit as Return.

Comments (1)liminalliz: Firefly Photo Essay

This Firefly Photo Essay is a great example of the kind of rampant fangirlism I can only wish I was capable of. I don’t think it spoils anything major, if, by some terrible tragedy, you still haven’t seen any of it.
